How it works

1A real-looking document goes up. Several things about it are wrong.
2Passages you could change are underlined. You get a limited number of edits.
3Some of those passages are fine. Fixing one costs you an edit and buys nothing.
4Commit, and find out what each one was actually worth.

Why it works: spotting flaws is easy and nearly useless — give anyone a red pen and enough time and they will mark everything. The skill is knowing which two or three changes carry the weight, and being willing to leave the rest. The decoys are the point: without something that looks wrong and is not, you would just mark the ugliest sentences and be right by accident.
